Adopt A Shelter PetSave A Life – Adopt A Shelter Pet
The Story Of My Day

My beautiful friend Angela, turned me onto a Pound Puppy adoption event today at a local PetSmart. It was an hour and 10-minute drive from home, but I figured there must be a reason I should go. I checked out the Chesterfield Human Society shelter and their Facebook page where they had posted a few pictures of the puppies they’d be bringing to the store. One of them caught my attention. So today, on a Saturday, I got up at 7:20, got ready, made my morning stops and headed south.

This past November we lost my beloved dalmatian Rascal to a blood clot. In 2011, we lost her big sister Destinie to a stroke. But these past 6 months have been the first time in my life I haven’t had a dog with me. It’s been hard. Tougher than I expected actually. And that feeling probably prolonged the grieving longer than I would have liked. Continue reading

You Can’t Embarrass My Man

And We have proof.

In 2007 we took the Man to the local Texas Roadhouse for his birthday dinner. It happened to be “Kids Night” and as usual, the Balloon Maker was there. He’s really a great artist!

On this particular night we had been talking about how difficult it is to embarrass the Daddy person. The Balloon Maker thought he had a solution. And he was pretty confident, he could get a hesitation and red face from this self-proclaimed “Red neck”.

It didn’t take long for him to make one of the most elaborate and beautiful balloon animals I’ve ever seen! A Horse, complete with reigns and ready to ride through the restaurant. Little did he know… Continue reading

Home Through The Seasons

Life On The Lake

I moved to my personal lake estate in August 2001. It’s more than a dream house. It’s our home, our place of solace and where we go when we need to be re-energized after battling against the world. The view is always breath taking, no matter what the season, no matter what the weather.

November’s Full Moon 2014

Life On The Lake

On our way out of the neighborhood we must drive across the dam road. No not that kind of dam. The dam that was built to create the beautiful 300 acre lake we live on. There are no natural lakes in the Commonwealth of Virginia. They’re all man-made, but that doesn’t take anything away from their beauty.

We head out early during the week days. And this morning we were greeted with an early view of the Hunter’s Moon. November’s Full Moon had just started to set behind the trees in the west, when the cool morning was breaking into fall colors as the Sun brightened the sky from the east.

A special moment when the Sun can love the Moon and kiss the sky with their embrace.
