June 24th Is International Faery Day

May all the Faery’s in your world greet you with smiles and glee,
May you share a laugh, comfort a sorrow and toast with me,
To the beautiful mystical Faery folk who live in the magikal tree.
Spring © 2015

Celebrate by leaving a small plate of fresh fruit, nuts and sweet treats in your yard or garden for your faery friends.

Right about sunset, read them a poem, a story or tell them a tale from your imagination. You can even tell them a dream you’ve had about them. Continue reading

It’s The Little Things
A little moment from my morning.

Coca-Cola has a promotion going on right now for personalized coke bottles. Many people are finding a bottle with their name on it and tweeting pictures with the hashtag #ShareACoke.

Now I’m a Coke fan. Diet coke specifically. But I haven’t found a personalized bottle anywhere with my name on it. Not a Vicky, Vicki, or my spelling Vickie. Then I found out that you can order one for $5 at ShareACoke.com.

Ok that’s kewl. So I went there and ordered one for me and my boys (Daddy and our son <- my boys). And of course my favorite Coca-Cola Racing driver Tony Stewart.

Then I thought, wouldn’t it be kewl to have one with Springwolf on it? Now if I can’t find Vickie, of course Springwolf wasn’t going to be out in the world. But I discovered that Coke regulate what it will and will not put on the label. Smart move on the company’s part really. But you can make special requests. So I submitted Springwolf and waited to see if it would be approved. Continue reading

The Summer Solstice – Right

Celebrating The Summer Solstice

Time for a new design. If you’ve never had your nails done, you may not know that you need to visit your designer every 2 to 3 weeks. It depends on how fast your nails grow.

Typically for me an acrylic set will last between 16 to 19 days. Then they start lifting and need to be replaced. This isn’t a flaw, its normal wear and tear. The oil in your nails degrade the material and the nail can lift in the back near the cuticle. Normally you can use a small dab of super glue and secure the nail till you have time to visit your Nail Shop.

This Saturday, Spring will join the crew on to share information about Pagan Metaphysics, Wicca, Witchcraft and Magik. What are these practices, the misconceptions, beliefs? We’ll discuss the growing popularity and struggles of Pagans here in the U.S. and around the world. And a whole lot more. We always have fun on our radio shows, so we hope you’ll tune in and listen! Nails – For May

20150529-BDay

My Birthday Present

My Birthday Present

My Mother-in-Law sent me some very welcome birthday money and I decided to spend some of it at one of my favorite places getting some much-needed pampering! Thank you SO Much Ms. Sandy!

I love getting my nails done! I first starting going to this shop about 7 years ago. Ms. May was my original artist. Sadly she left the shop, but everyone there is very talented and skilled. Ms. Linda is my artist now and she’s truly fabulous. So when I had the extra cash to visit, I jumped at the chance!

I always take a pic of the work they’ve done because it’s so beautiful I think it deserves to be recorded and remembered. I’ll have to create a post of the past versions so I can share the memories. If other people are like me (and I think some are), they like searching the web for ideas and inspirations for what they would like their nail artists to do.

So this is my first design in years! And it’s the first share on this new section of my blog.

It’s The Little Things

Enjoy The Small Things In Life

Because the big things don’t come along that often. Sharing some personal excitement from my twitter account tonight. Last month we bought a pretty, albeit used, Ford Escape from our local dealer, Sheehy Ford. I’ve never owned a vehicle that wasn’t a Ford, so I’m sort of biased. But I love each and everyone I’ve had. And they’ve all been great and taken very good care of me.

Last week I had a hitch put on my little truck. And then I set out to find a hitch cover to keep it safe and sound when we’re not using it. And that cover came today. Although it did come in pieces.

I’ve been doing manly mechanical stuff on my new(used) truck & its new hitch! It lights up! ‪#‎Ford‬ ‪#‎Escape‬ ‪#‎ImExcited‬
Ford Light Up Hitch

It was a pain in the butt to build the attachment piece. And truth be told, I did have to take it apart and reroute the wires properly. But I did it! And in time to pick up the Daddy person from the train tomorrow.

I’ll have to find out if I can get a small extension for the cord. It barely reaches and I think that’s probably a bad thing. we’ll see what I can do. Might be as simple as turning the attachment 45degrees. That means taking it apart…again. I’ve done it once, I can do it again!

Oh well, I’m happy and I can’t wait to go somewhere and show it off. That won’t be till tomorrow morning when I can balance the manly mechanical thing with some girly stuff. I’m getting my nails done for my birthday!

Decoration Day 2015

Thank you

Thank you

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America. Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day.

Regardless of the exact date or location of its origins, one thing is clear – Memorial Day was borne out of the Civil War and a desire to honor our dead. It was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11. “The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land,” he proclaimed.

The date of Decoration Day, as he called it, was chosen because it wasn’t the anniversary of any particular battle.

NASCAR Flying

Today my 11-year-old told me about an idea he had for us to have a plane and commute to work by air. I made mention that if we had a plane, we would be using it to fly on vacation and probably going to the races around the country. I don’t think commuting to work would get much done. Well not in the kind of plane he was talking about.

Which brought up different kinds of planes, other than commercial planes, what they’re used for and who uses them. Which of course brought me to NASCAR. Hey, it’s what I do.

If you have a favorite race car driver you know most of them have a private plane to get around the country for business. Whither they’re flying to a race, back home again or to visit with Sponsors and their staff, race car drivers do a lot of traveling. Continue reading

Big Kudos To NASCAR

LetsGoRacingNASCAR Issues A Press Release

Yesterday I tweeted a comment to NASCAR about the “Religious Freedom” act issued in Indiana.

@NASCAR Should support Equality Rights in #Indiana; pull the Indy race and go to another Road Course instead!

One of my friends asked me if I was trying to start-up trouble. Of course I was!

Today NASCAR issued their own press release on the matter.

Statement from NASCAR on Indiana legislation
March 31, 2015, Official NASCAR release, NASCAR.com
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 31, 2015) — “NASCAR is disappointed by the recent legislation passed in Indiana. We will not embrace nor participate in exclusion or intolerance. We are committed to diversity and inclusion within our sport and therefore will continue to welcome all competitors and fans at our events in the state of Indiana and anywhere else we race.” — NASCAR Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer Brett Jewkes

Way to go NASCAR! So proud to be a fan of your sport!
