When did I first create my WordPress blog? You might be surprised by how many people want to know this after years of blogging.
Back in 2011, that date of creation was fairly easy to find. You could go to your Dashboard, Options and Domains. On that panel, you’d find the date you assigned the domain to your blog. For most people, that date is the date of creation.
But for others, the blog may have been up and running long before purchasing a domain name. Then what do you do? Yeah, good luck finding that.
If you search for this topic, you’ll find a wide variety of suggestions. Continue reading →
I love old black and white movies! What I call the real classics with James Cagney, Gary Cooper, Clark Gable, Joan Fontaine, Rosalind Russell and Hedy Lamar. Those were real actors. Some of my most favorite old movies are “Arsenic and Old Lace” with Cary Grant. “The Philadelphia Story” with Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn and Jimmy Stewart. Who wouldn’t like “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” with Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison. Oh my was he a handsome man!
Then there’s those campy whodunits! I love Nick and Nora Charles played by William Powell and Myrna Loy. “The Thin Man” is one of my all time favorites! As are all six of the movies in the series.
But what does all this have to do with getting a new nail design? Last month’s nail art was a little over the top for me. It was beautiful and I did like it. But it was a bit “more” than I wanted for another two weeks. So I wanted to give my artists an example of what I wanted on a more conservative slant. Continue reading →
Here in Virginia, our hottest month for the summer time is August! It’s hot, but more than that, it’s humid! East of the Blue Ridge mountains, Virginia is a huge swamp. And the humidity from the region can make the temperature feel 10° hotter than the gauge proclaims.
So this month, I went looking for a color that said “hot”. And I found a nice orange to represent the Sun and the heat of the Dogs Days of Summer.
This week I was back sitting with my favorite artist, Ms. May and once again I let her go to town with the design. This time it was a little more than I expected. But I like it. After all I can change it in 2 or 3 weeks. Maybe a little less design next time.
Time for a new design. If you’ve never had your nails done, you may not know that you need to visit your designer every 2 to 3 weeks. It depends on how fast your nails grow.
Typically for me an acrylic set will last between 16 to 19 days. Then they start lifting and need to be replaced. This isn’t a flaw, its normal wear and tear. The oil in your nails degrade the material and the nail can lift in the back near the cuticle. Normally you can use a small dab of super glue and secure the nail till you have time to visit your Nail Shop. Continue reading →
My Mother-in-Law sent me some very welcome birthday money and I decided to spend some of it at one of my favorite places getting some much-needed pampering! Thank you SO Much Ms. Sandy!
I love getting my nails done! I first starting going to this shop about 7 years ago. Ms. May was my original artist. Sadly she left the shop, but everyone there is very talented and skilled. Ms. Linda is my artist now and she’s truly fabulous. So when I had the extra cash to visit, I jumped at the chance!
I always take a pic of the work they’ve done because it’s so beautiful I think it deserves to be recorded and remembered. I’ll have to create a post of the past versions so I can share the memories. If other people are like me (and I think some are), they like searching the web for ideas and inspirations for what they would like their nail artists to do.
So this is my first design in years! And it’s the first share on this new section of my blog.
